About Us

Clay Intermediate Center services close to 500 students in grades 5-8.

In July 1962, the South Bend Community School Corporation was formed by a merger of School City of South Bend, and the school townships of Clay, Portage, German, Warren, Centre, Greene, and Liberty. The high school in Clay township prior to the merger was called Washington-Clay. The new high school opened in 1976 at its current site.
